This is typical of the quality of SOG edges. Very well balanced and quite light - ideal for backpacking. I'm not crazy about the sheath and its rather tight belt loop, and the handle is the reason for the loss of a star. If they used the same material used in the handle of their S21B-K GOV-TAC knife, it would be a major improvement. I found the grip to be a little on the small side in addition to its discomfort. The other comment I would make is regarding its thickness - it is only 3/16" thick which is a little too thin for easy tent stake driving. I corrected that problem with a short length of aluminum bar stock which I place on top of the peg, giving me a much larger surface for driving in a tent stake. The aluminum is much lighter than the weight that would have to be added to the steel blade to make it thick enough to use as a hammer, so I am happy with my 'work-around'. Very sharp and seems to hold an edge. The black finish wears off with use.

...not very useful in real life. I tried to use this as a camp axe and it is too small and light to be real effective. Looks cool but at this price, I'd buy two Coleman camp axes instead.

Love it. It is smaller than I thought it would be but, it actually works very well and holds a sharp edge better than expected. I bought mine through a package deal on Woot.com with a shovel and saw and they were all worth the money.
Calling it an axe is kind of a stretch but as a hatchet it's great. :)
